Description
A unique golden glowing selection that will light up partially shaded gardens, Gold Ingot Liriope, commonly called Golden Monkey Grass, features golden-yellow foliage with more sun and brilliant chartreuse in shade. Either way, the coloration is stunning and will not go unnoticed in the garden. As with other Liriope muscari, in mid to late summer spikes of lavender-purple flowers resembling hyacinths rise up to 12 inches above the foliage. The butterflies and hummingbirds will love and thank you for the flowers. Extremely easy to grow and very long lived in garden beds or containers.
Landscape & Garden Uses
Growing in an arching mound 15 top 18 inches tall and around 30 inches wide, the Gold Ingot Liriope is ideal for use as an accent in smaller partially shaded garden spaces and containers or in groupings, mass plantings or as a border along paths, walkways and patios. Also excellent in home foundation plantings and under the canopies of trees such as upright Japanese maples and even large shade trees. A fine addition to yellow-gold theme gardens, butterfly gardens, hummingbird gardens, and shade gardens.
Suggested Spacing: 24 inches apart for mass planting or solid border edger

Growing Preferences
Gold Ingot Liriope is exceptionally easy to grow in most any moist but well-drained soil of average fertility and shade to part shade. Some morning sun or all-day heavily filtered sun is fine, but direct afternoon sun is best avoided. For brightest foliage color we suggest 4 to 5 hours of sunlight in the mornings and/or evening hours. Avoid the hot direct afternoon sun as leaves may scorch. Constantly soggy or wet soil can be problematic. Though evergreen, we usually trim plants back to near the soil line in late winter, prior to new growth emerging, though ding so isn’t necessary.

All of my side yard is shaded pretty much all day. Though a lot of it is a great wall of greenery it’s a lot of the same deep green, not these guys! They add a nice pop of lime that I like to see every time I pull into my driveway. They arrived perfectly packaged, even a little to well packed, took some effort to pull the box apart lol. The plants looked like they never went through the post at all and are thriving well.——————————————Thanks for the kind words and awesome review!
